What is Word Bomb?
Word Bomb is a fast, chaotic multiplayer word game. Every turn, the game deals the current player a short letter combo — a common English sequence like ing, ck or ough — and starts a bomb timer. Type any real word that contains that combo and the bomb passes to the next player with a fresh combo. Freeze up and the bomb goes off: you lose a life. You start with 2 lives on most difficulties (or 3 on Chill, the relaxed default for new players). Lose them all and you're out — last player standing wins.
If you've played BombParty on JKLM.fun, you already know the format — Word Bomb is our take on it: same hot-potato spelling panic, with shrinking timers, difficulty levels, combos that get harder as the game goes on, and a practice bot for solo play. It runs entirely in the browser, so you can start a room and have friends in it within seconds via a room code.
How to play
- Create a room (or join one with a code). Word Bomb starts with 2+ players — solo players can add a bot opponent.
- On your turn, a combo appears — 2 or 3 letters, always a sequence that real words actually contain.
- Type any real word containing the combo and submit before the timer runs out. For ust, "trust", "mustard" and "adjustment" all work.
- A valid word passes the bomb to the next player, who gets a new combo.
- If the bomb blows up on you, you lose a life — and the same combo passes on, so pay attention to what just failed. Run out of lives (2 on most tiers, 3 on Chill) and you're eliminated.
- The last player alive wins. The timer gets shorter as the game goes on, so every game ends in a panic.
Rules
- Your word must contain the combo as an exact, unbroken sequence — st is in "fastest", not in "seat".
- Only real English words count; every submission is dictionary-checked.
- No repeats: once any player has used a word, it's dead for the rest of the game.
- Too-short words are rejected — you can't ride out the game on two-letter answers.
- A fresh combo is rolled after every accepted word, so you can't plan ahead.
- The timer shrinks as turns are completed, down to a hard floor — the endgame is always frantic.

Turns are counted across all players, so the whole table speeds up together.
Strategy tips
- Don't hunt for the perfect word. The first valid word wins the turn; "hero words" get people killed. Speed beats style every time.
- Lean on suffixes and prefixes. Combos like ing, ent, pre and con sit at the start or end of thousands of words — when one appears, grab the most boring word you know ("thing", "went", "press") and move on.
- Build word families in your head. For 3-letter combos, think in clusters: ock gives you sock, rock, block, pocket, knock — if your first pick is already taken, the family gives you an instant backup.
- Listen to the table. Used words are dead words. If "string" just got played on str, have "street" or "strong" ready instead of retyping a rejected repeat while the fuse burns.
- Type first, look second. On hard mode's 3-second floor there's no time to read the timer. Start typing the instant the combo appears — a rejected word costs less time than a frozen brain.
- Practice solo against the bot. A few solo rounds teach you the combo pool's rhythm — which sequences keep coming back and which words you reflexively reach for.
